Instructor Getting Started

Requesting an Account

Visit varsitylearning.com/instructor-signup to request an instructor account. Include your name, institution, and the course(s) you plan to teach. We review requests and set up accounts within one business day. Once approved, you'll receive login credentials by email.

Logging In

Go to varsitylearning.com and click "Login". Enter the username and password from your approval email. After logging in, you'll be on your home page.

Your Home Page

Your home page lists all your courses. From here you can:

  • Create new courses — click "Add New Course"
  • Open an existing course — click the course name
  • View messages — from students or other instructors
  • Update your profile — click your name in the navigation

Creating Your First Course

Click "Add New Course" on your home page. You have two options:

  • Use a template — copy an existing course that has assessments, content, and question sets already configured. This is the fastest way to get started.
  • Start from scratch — create an empty course and build it yourself

After creating the course, open it and configure the key settings (see Creating Courses).

Sharing the Course with Students

The most important setting to configure first is the Enrollment Key. This is the password students enter to join your course. Go to your course settings, set the enrollment key, and share it with your students along with the Course ID (shown in your course settings and in the course URL).

Students enroll by going to their home page, clicking "Enroll in a New Class", and entering both the Course ID and Enrollment Key.

Adding Assignments

Open your course and click "Add Item" inside any content block to add assessments, links, text, or discussion forums. See Adding Content for details.
